During FinanceEstonia Forum 2013 was announced this year’s FinanceEstonia Award winner, who is Statoil Fuel & Retail Financial Center.
Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA’s Finance Centre in Tallinn, Estonia was established in October 2010 and acts as a center of competence within the Group companies, developing and performing financial services such as Treasury Services, Cash Management Services, Centralized Treasury Accounting and Group Financing Services. Today 12 people work in the Estonian Center and Veiko Haavapuu has been successfully leading the operations for 3 years.
“While choosing the best location for the group’s financial center, Estonia scored well on some important location attractiveness factors, such as a well developed financial and IT infrastructure, a favourable regulatory and tax regime but also instituting the Euro as of 1 January 2011” said Klaus-Andres Nysteen, CFO Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA in Statoil’s press release (2010/10/04).

FinanceEstonia Award is given out second year in sequence and the aim of this award is to highlight each year one company who has positively influenced Estonian economy and successfully set up financial services in Estonia. The main valuation criteria are (a) length of the experience (b) extent of the influence.
In 2012 the FinanceEstonia Award winner was SEB Wealth Management.
