DESCRIPTION:At the meeting in <a href="https://www.itpa.org/?page_id=9565">Geneva next month</a>, Nico Francken will say that foundations do not simply serve as civil law alternatives to trusts, and will look at the international tax planning opportunities offered by the Netherlands Foundation (the Stichting). What is now Indonesia was formerly a Dutch colony, and it is interesting that a similar form of Stichting still exists under Indonesian law. In his practice, Nico Francken works primarily with legal entities and structures from New Zealand, Singapore and the Netherlands, but he will also discuss the uses of the Indonesian Stichting, especially in relation to investment in Asia.
